The Mercedes pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas was one of the most successful ones for the team. The pair helped the team win the constructors’ champion an incredible five times in a row. Safe to say, this combination worked wonders for the Brackley-based outfit.
However, Bottas’ time ended at Mercedes, and the team invited a young Brit to the fold. Since then, the excitement around George Russell has only grown, especially with his promising showing at Mercedes.

Russell’s consistent performances were the only saving grace for the Silver Arrows during the stuttering start of the season. he consistently finished in the top five until his crash in the British GP.
While Russell was making do with the bouncing W13, Hamilton was taking all the heat and experiments to improve. Fortunately, all those experiments paid off as the seven-time world champion is back into podium places.
Hamilton extinguished all the retirement fire with his performances in the much-improved W13. If the last five races before the summer break are any proof, Hamilton’s first win of the season is right around the corner.

Both Hamilton and Russell have been incredible in the current season despite the poor start. The two of them can definitely lead Mercedes to another constructors’ title given a worthy car.
The Twitter handle of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team expressed that exact desire with their latest announcement.
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s pairing praised on Twitter
The admin of Mercedes’ Twitter handle never misses an opportunity to crack a joke. Amidst the current F1 seat drama started by the Oscar Piastri-Alpine announcement, even Alexander Albon announced his renewal with William similarly on Twitter. So naturally, the Mercedes handle, without wasting any time, jumped on this trend as well to make their own announcement.
