Remember what happened to Logan Sargeant at the Qatar GP last year? The Williams driver had to retire from the race due to exhaustion. Even Lance Stroll wasn’t able to get out of the car at the end of the race. It was arguably the most exhausting race of the season. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell crashed into one another and we weren’t able to see what the condition of the Mercedes driver was like at the end. But Hamilton has now suggested that he’s in a better physical condition than George Russell.

After the Qatar GP weekend, where many drivers complained of the race being too hot and were seen struggling, Lewis Hamilton came out to suggest that F1 is an extreme sport and making the race shorter isn’t an option. One just needs to train harder and that’s what he does as well. A controversial opinion but a reality. The Malaysian GP used to be as humid and hot as Qatar, and drivers trained for it.

F1 is a physical sport where drivers experience up to 6G’s of force. In some races like Singapore, drivers lose up to 4 kgs of liquid from their body during the duration of the race. One would expect someone like Hamilton, who is nearing 40, to struggle more compared to the young guns on the grid. But the 7x champ suggests otherwise, while also giving the example of Fernando Alonso, who’s performing at the highest level while being the oldest driver on the grid.

Prior to the Chinese GP, during an event, Lewis Hamilton said, “Nearing 40 years old, I feel really young still, and I think he’s got more problems physically than I do today. He’s spending more time with his physio than I am. I think it’s a real positive, firstly because it means I’m not the oldest driver here. Also, Fernando’s one of the best drivers we’ve had in the sport, so for him to continue  to be here, continue to have the output that he’s had, just shows what’s possible and just shows the new era of athletes and what the human body can do.”

Lewis Hamilton is super conscious about his diet and training regime and even turned vegan to help his endeavor of living a healthy life. He had also promised his former trainer Angela Cullen that he’d limit his alcohol consumption. The 7x champ even released a non-alcoholic tequila to continue this mission of a healthy lifestyle and help others as well.

Lewis Hamilton’s Almave for people “focused on balance, longevity, and living fully.”

Last year, towards the end of the season, Lewis Hamilton made the announcement of his latest venture called Almave. It’s a non-alcoholic tequila that is made from real blue agave. Hamilton suggests that it is for the people who enjoy the taste of tequila but don’t want the alcohol content. The Brit suggested that the product doesn’t compromise on taste or quality.

In the caption of his Instagram post, while revealing Almave to the world, Lewis Hamilton wrote, “It’s finally here. Welcome to @Almave, the world’s first and only non-alcoholic spirit created from real blue agave. Almave is for people like myself, who are always pushing the limits of what’s possible, who enjoy the taste of tequila but are focused on balance, longevity, and living fully.”
