Lewis Hamilton has been on a mission ever since he lost out to Max Verstappen for the 2021 F1 world championship title. In fact, ever since then, the 7x champion has had to dig deeper than ever before to pull himself and his ailing Mercedes team from the crater they’ve found themselves in. Needless to say, the Brit hasn’t had enough time left on his schedule to keep up with the friends he’s made along the way. But a few close ones have been doing their own bit. Liza Koshy is one of them.

Koshy, 27, has made a name and a whopping $6,000,000 fortune for herself through her work as an actor and a social media personality. Koshy has made a habit of rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the sporting industry. And Hamilton is also one among them. This time around, however, she made a $50 detour to get along with the 38-year-old.

Liza Koshy posted a picture on her Instagram story recently where she tagged the 7x champion. She was donning Hamilton’s own Mercedes F1 cap, an item that can be picked up from the Brit’s merchandise store online for $53.

She captioned the story, “night tres @lewishamilton” And it would appear as though the Brit thoroughly enjoyed the link-up, too! He promptly took to his own Instagram account to reshare the story on his handle with a red heart.

If this is the start of a longstanding friendship, she’ll fit into the F1 paddock perfectly, given the historic connection she shares with the sport.

How Liza Koshy created history in Formula 1

The sport’s push towards diversity and equality is something that has been in the works for quite some time now. And with Hamilton being one of the biggest players in making the dream of more women’s involvement in the sport become a reality, it only makes sense now that he and Koshy have reignited their bond.  

At the 2019 Canadian Grand Prix weekend, Koshy made history in Formula 1. How? Well, “The YouTube star and Double Dare host spent the weekend at the Formula 1 race and got an in depth look at all that goes on at a race weekend,” per Just Jared Jr.  

“Liza also presented the Pirelli Pole Position Award to Sebastian Vettel at the race, making her the first woman to ever present that award!”
