One thing’s for sure, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton cannot live without each other! It’s been said so many times before, but the fact that the duo feel an incessant need to ‘compete’ with each other, be it on or off the track, cannot be stated enough. It’s going to be a while before Hamilton and Verstappen get the chance to square off wheel-to-wheel, given the insane dominance that Red Bull is experiencing. However, don’t expect the fireworks to let up any time soon between the duo.

In the recent past, Verstappen has distinguished himself in the sport with an unimaginable 10 Grands Prix victories in a row. And not wanting the Dutch lion to run away scot-free with all the glory, in the buildup to his historic feat, Hamilton made a sly jab about Verstappen always having it easy with inferior teammates whilst the Brit toiled for sunshine against proven world champions. Now, this verbal spat has taken another dramatic turn.

Max Verstappen brutally shows Lewis Hamilton his place

Performance is what Verstappen has over Lewis Hamilton right now. Arguably, Mercedes has been very weak since 2022, and that shows in how Hamilton performs every weekend. For example, during the Italian GP weekend, Verstappen’s current and ex-teammates, Sergio Perez, Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz all out-qualified Hamilton. And Verstappen seized the opportunity.

Max Verstappen was quoted by Formule1.nl as retaliating, “It’s not nice of Hamilton towards the teammates I had, but it is ironic that after that interview of his in Monza, many of my teammates were ahead of him in qualifying. I am not focused on others, but on my own performance.”

Hamilton wasn’t enough though, as Verstappen also took a sly dig at Toto Wolff, too!

Wolff was quoted as belittling Verstappen’s historic 10 consecutive Grands Prix wins as an irrelevant stat for ‘Wikipedia‘. Safe to say, it hasn’t gone unnoticed by the 2x champion who promptly decided to lay one out for the Austrian billionaire, too.

Verstappen continued, “It’s about your own performance, how you perform in your race weekends and how you work together with your team. The rest is secondary. Maybe there is a little jealousy. Nice for Netflix? That doesn’t really matter to me.”

Are you team Hamilton or team Verstappen for this round of the bout?
