Mercedes paid tribute to Niki Lauda after he passed away by changing their Halo to Red for the 2019 Monaco GP. Mercedes continues to pay its tribute by painting one of the stars on the engine cover as Red. And while the 2019 Mercedes was something that Niki Lauda would’ve been proud of, we cannot say the same now, as Mercedes continues to drop down the order.

And Ex Ferrari Boss, Peter Windsor has now come out to suggest that Niki Lauda would’ve been annoyed with Toto Wolff and Co. Ever since Lewis Hamilton lost the 2021 championship in a controversial way, Mercedes seems to be on a downward trajectory. The porpoising problems in 2022, Hamilton complaining of the driving position in 2023 and now the horrible pace of the W15 based on the new concept.

Christian Danner, former F1 driver suggested that Toto Wolff is probably missing Niki Lauda for his expertise in knowing what’s good for the car. And now Peter Windsor has come to point at Mercedes’ shortcomings, and how Niki Lauda would’ve reacted to it. Lauda was known for his direct approach when expressing disappointment and Windsor explains that he probably would’ve slammed some people at Mercedes for the same.

During Peter Windsor’s live on YouTube, the former Ferrari manager was asked whether he knew Niki Lauda in any capacity, and if he did, how do you think he would’ve reacted to the downfall at Mercedes, to which he replied, “Niki would be fairly annoyed by the way things are going. He certainly would be kicking some capital A.”

However, a former McLaren engineer who helped design the McLaren F1 has now launched a special edition of his car named after Niki Lauda, and that is something that Niki Lauda will be proud of.
