Montoya: Mercedes or Nothing for Sebastian Vettel

Mercedes signing Vettel would be a dream come true for every single F1 fan. Hamilton vs Vettel, same car, same team. It would be one last dogfight between arguably two of the greatest drivers in Formula 1.

Sadly, one can only keep dreaming. Mercedes has a long list of options to play with before Vettel comes into the picture. The first is Valtteri Bottas, who’s done everything that the team could want.

He’s a great team player, doesn’t cause trouble, and still delivers strong results. Its everything that Mercedes needs for the perfect Championship winning environment. Even if the German team splits up with Finn, they have a young driver of their own in George Russell.

Russel’s more than ready to finally drive a competitive F1 car. He has the skills and with the right guidance from Hamilton, he could be the team’s future. As a result, Mercedes are spoilt for choice.

Montoya believes Seb’s only choice is Merc or nothing. The Colombian thinks its Vettel’s passion that’ll ultimately play a role in deciding his future in F1. Speaking to Motorsport.com, Montoya said:

“Or at least what they want from Bottas, I don’t know if it has never been what they want or what it is, but if you look at Bottas it is always a year (contract)
