And the F1 Meme award for 2023 goes to… George Russell. For which meme is upon you to decide? The Mercedes driver had so many iconic memes in 2023, whether it be the F1 introduction pose meme or the looking back meme. Russell definitely became an internet sensation because of the memes. The Briton is back at it in 2024 as he drags Daniel Ricciardo‘s viral clip sending fans into a frenzy.

What’s the most awaited thing for the 2024 season apart from the car launches you may ask? It’s the 2024 F1 introduction, especially what George Russell is going to do. The Mercedes driver recently reacted to a reel where a fan was suggesting Russell poses for the 2024 introduction. We can be sure that the Briton is going to come up with another iconic pose after the 2023 success.

However, before the introduction pose is revealed, Russell decided to capture the internet in 2024 by introducing a new set of meme templates for his fans while also dragging Daniel Ricciardo’s iconic “high-performance athlete” clip into it. While the off-season is the only time the driver gets some time to relax, they also have to make sure that they stay in the best shape for the upcoming season.

As a result, George Russell posted pictures of himself training in the gym on his Instagram. But how did he include Daniel Ricciardo’s viral clip in it, you may ask? Well, it was the caption. The caption read, “Real athletes sweat, right @danielricciardo? Season prep continues…” This is a throwback to Ricciardo’s Renault days where, in a post-session interview, a sweaty Ricciardo was asked whether it was real sweat on him. He replied, “It’s real sweat. I’m a high-performance athlete. Athletes sweat. Sweat baby.”

As for how it became a meme template, the fans were quick to latch onto George Russell posting the pictures and understood the reference made in the caption. Let’s see what the fans had to say.
