Red Bull Racing sealed its sixth constructors win since its dawn during the Japanese Grand Prix. Having broken the Mercedes dominance in 2021, the outfit has won 15 of the 16 races of the 2023 season. On the contrary, Mercedes tasted victory over a year ago during the Brazilian Grand Prix. The rivalry of the respective team principles is therefore justified and obvious.

Christian Horner, the team principal of the dominating Bulls ridiculed any sign of friendship between him and Toto Wolff. Speaking to Sky Sports he made it abundantly clear that Wolff and the Merc team will get back at the Milton Keynes outfit any chance they get.

People in the sports world would all agree that it’s not about solidifying off-track adoration for each other. It’s about rivalry on-court and regard off-court. According to Formula Passion, Horner told Sky Sports, “But there must be respect, sport is not such without rivalry. Wolff hasn’t seen much in the last couple of years, but I’m sure he’s plotting something. I’m sure they have something they’re working on, we’re talking about a great team with great drivers. They will try to react.” [translated via Google]

Red Bull has had its fair share of dominance during the 2010-2013 period, with Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. On the other hand, the Brackley outfit wiped out the 2014-2021 seasons with eight consecutive constructors. Horner confessed, “It hurts when you lose.” Elaborating he said, “If it doesn’t hurt, then you shouldn’t do this job. We had a long period, from six to seven seasons, of pain. We were bridesmaids. Not being short of observation, he rightfully exclaimed that title fights run in cycles.

Horner reiterated, “And at some point someone will beat us too. Whether it’s Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin or anyone else, it’s not known. We can only focus on ourselves.” Mercedes scored six podiums this season. They are currently 20 points clear of Ferrari in a Championship fight for the second. Although, Red Bull is sitting comfortably after sealing the championship in first & Max Verstappen looks to do the same in Qatar.
