Miami GP Director Offers Exciting David Beckham News for Its 2022 F1 Debut

Miami is arguably one of the most popular cities not just in the USA, but in the entire world. In terms of sports, the city plays host to several franchises across various leagues ranging from the NBA to the MLB. One of these franchises is Inter Miami, an MLS franchise founded by English soccer icon David Beckham.

Next year, another sport will make take place in ‘The Magic City’. And it’s none other than F1, as the Miami Grand Prix will take place for the first time at the Hard Rock Stadium. While construction of the new track is in full swing, the head of the Miami Grand Prix, Tom Garfinkel, spoke about Beckham’s interest to attend the race.

Recently, Garfinkel spoke to Sky Sports where he revealed various aspects of the upcoming Miami Grand Prix. Among those aspects, he mentioned the conversation he had with Beckham while revealing his interest in attending next year’s race.

He said“It’s a funny story. David and I have a mutual friend who called and said that David would like to meet me and get involved in the Formula One race. So we had dinner last week. David is very keen to go to the event He’s really looking forward to coming to Miami for the F1 race.” (Quotes translated by Google)

Garfinkel expects many celebrities to attend next year’s race

He also mentioned receiving calls from several other celebrities apart from Beckham. Hence, he looks forward to seeing the race embrace Miami’s celebrity culture.

“We have received many calls from various celebrities, friends, wealthy and influential people, all of whom have expressed great interest in coming,” said Garfinkel. “I anticipate many celebrities from all over the world will be attending this event. There is a great celebrity culture in Miami.”

With the track located in the exciting environment of Miami Gardens, fans can expect the race to produce sheer entertainment. The Miami Grand Prix will take place on May 8, 2022.
