After 12 years of successful tenure, Jean Todt finally hung his boots as the FIA president with 14-time Middle East Rally champion, Ben Mohammed Sulayem, consequently taking over the Frenchman’s prestigious spot. Hence, hailing his work in F1, the Michael Schumacher family released a heartwarming statement on social media.
Todt led the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile for over a decade, but, his success doesn’t just stop there. Instead, it runs deeper into the 90s where the 75-year-old played one of the biggest roles in pulling Ferrari right back into the championship fight.

Ferrari were staring at a rather painful start to the 20th century. But, Todt made sure that the anxiety remains part of the scenario and does not turn out the same in reality. Soon, Schumacher ended Ferrari’s 20-year drought by winning himself his first Ferrari world championship title. From there on, it was raining trophies for the team.
