Mick Schumacher Explains Why He’s “Definitely Ready” for F1

Mick Schumacher is one name rumored to enter Formula 1 next season. A lot of people have also talked about the young Ferrari academy driver making the step up to the sport.
Schumacher, however, feels from his end, that he is ready for the premier racing division. He also believes that his development from the last few years has equipped him in dealing with the pressures.

Mick Schumacher is currently the F2 championship leader
Racing with Prema Powerteam, Mick is currently in the lead with 191 points in the F2 championship standings. Winning the title will secure his super-license required to race in Formula 1.
“That’s why I definitely feel ready for Formula 1. I’m also very pleased that the results are correct and that my team and I have consistently achieved good results.” added Mick.

‘Schumi Junior’ originally had to make his free practice debut at Nurburgring. Along with fellow academy junior Callum Ilott, Schumacher got assigned to take the wheel of the Alfa Romeo C39.
However, owing to terrible weather on the day, the first session got canceled. Although that did not materialize, Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto had stated they were eyeing Abu Dhabi as another chance.
Haas is the only possibility for Mick in Formula 1

Midway through the season, there were innumerable links of Schumacher to Haas or Alfa Romeo. Recent developments meant it ruled the latter out as an option.
The Hinwil-headquartered team decided to retain its existing combination of Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi for 2021. This means that Haas, as it stands, remains the only other option for Mick.
The American outfit’s team principal had earlier admitted that taking on ‘two rookies’ for their 2021 lineup would be a risk. Whether that means a deal for Mick is close or not, remains to be seen.

For the time being, however, Mick’s focus will lie on attaining the F2 title. With four more races to go, which will all take place in Bahrain, the expectation is that the 21-year-old will go on to lift the cup.
