To guarantee a pace on the grid next season, he had to deliver in F2 this season. This brought some pressure on his shoulders, but he has been delivering the results. He is leading the championship, going into the last round of the season.
Since his drive has been officially confirmed, he can completely focus on sealing the F2 championship in Sakhir. “I don’t have to lose my head anymore, I can concentrate fully on the weekend, on my work, and on working with my team.
“It may be that it might be easier. It might also be that it is more difficult, but I can tell you that best after the weekend.”

Mick Schumacher wants ‘reduced expectations’ for next season
The German knows that all eyes will be on him next season. Fans will be expecting huge results from him. However, that is simply not possible. First, the Haas car is uncompetitive right now, and unless there are miracles, they can’t recover the performance gap by a huge margin. Second, he will need time to settle in his maiden campaign.
Dampening the expectations, he said, “I’m happy that I’ll be a Formula 1 driver next year. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the future brings… the expectations of many have to be reduced a bit. Of course, how quickly I settle in Formula 1 is also an interesting factor.”
