Formula One is returning to the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort after a long gap of 36 years. Everyone, including the drivers and the fans, are excited to see modern F1 cars at an old-school track like Zandvoort. The fans are expected to come in large numbers to show their support for Max Verstappen. But Haas driver Mick Schumacher made a special request to the fans on the weekend.

Schumacher mentioned he is much looking forward to driving an F1 car at the track. He acknowledged the crowd will support home hero Max Verstappen, but stated that he hopes they will show respect to other drivers as well.

As reported by Speedweek, the Haas F1 driver mentioned that the orange army can cause a raucous at the circuit. He stated that the orange flare guns were a problem for the drivers in Belgium as well.

“I hope that the fans will hold back a little because in Belgium the smoke was blowing on the track. It smells bad, and the smell stays in the car. So, dear fans, please hold back a little. ” said Schumacher while requesting the fans.

The German driver hopes for an exciting weekend at Zandvoort

Mick Schumacher is one of the few drivers who have driven the Zandvoort circuit in recent years. He raced at the track in Formula 4 and Formula 3. He has some decent results as he has been on the podium in his previous visits.

“My memories are pretty positive,” said Mick on racing in Zandvoort.

“Zandvoort is a real shot and grain course, and although the track has been modernized, it still retains that old-school flair. It will be something special to drive a Formula 1 car here,” said Haas driver.

Just like every driver, Mick is also looking forward to driving the F1 cars on the banked corners of the track. “I’ve never driven something like this before, that’s new territory for me. I’m curious what can be done in terms of line selection.” said the German.

Schumacher would for much more improved performance at the Dutch Grand Prix. He will hope to get ahead of as many drivers as possible and challenge for points.
