Mick Schumacher Reveals Long Term Goal Ahead of Potential F1 Entry

As we enter a new decade of racing, so will a new generation of young drivers. Ferrari academy junior Mick Schumacher is one of those rough diamonds, waiting for his chance in F1.
The F2 driver is racing alongside many such talents who could make the cut. His intention is to be the best young racer there is. For when the time comes, stepping up to F1 with the same mentality will be a desired requisite.
In an interview, the 21-year-old German driver reveals what his long-term ambitions are. He also explained how being prepared is the best arrow one can have in the quiver of racing skills.

Mick Schumacher wants to become a “complete” racing driver
By the looks of it, ‘Schumi Junior’ wants to chart his own pathway in Formula 1. Coming from the Schumacher racing family that houses former F1 drivers Michael and Ralf will have its own set of pressures too.
Mick is quoted as saying, “In the long-term, what I want to do is to create the perfect racing driver and become the complete racing driver.

“That’s why last year was so important, trying to understand every single bit of detail before thinking of the results.”
“Ultimately, I want to go to F1 being as best prepared as I can be. And to do so, I have to also go through tough times, because during those, you learn the most,” concluded Mick.

The Haas candidate is currently leading the F2 Championship standings
Mick is competing for a second year straight in the F1 support competition. In the 2019 season, he finished 12th with Prema Powerteam, in what was part of a learning curve for him.
Naturally, the links with F1 teams begun relatively early this season. Even now, he has a good chance of joining American outfit Haas, if the latest transfer rumors are to be believed.

Mick, however, remains unfazed by all the attention he is receiving. With his words and maturity, he reminds us all of a certain great Schumacher, who graced this sport not very long ago.
