Things aren’t going well for McLaren right now, as the team is currently last in the championship standings and relies too heavily on Lando Norris to get significant points. And amidst the continued struggle, the 23-year-old Briton has sustained his commitment to the team despite the ongoing difficulties since the Briton has a special connection with the $367 million McLaren F1 facility.

Lando Norris, who is currently in the fifth year of his contract with McLaren, extended his agreement last year, which sees him stay with the Woking-based team through the end of 2025. The Briton’s decision to extend his term reveals both his unwavering faith in the group and his special relationship with the papaya family.

The British driver, who scored 122 points in total last season, was viewed as Mclaren’s best chance to compete in the midfield this year. However, Zak Brown had already acknowledged that the Woking-based squad had fallen short of the primary goal of developing the MCL60 before the start of season 2023. As the season progressed, things became more evident regarding the causes of Mclaren’s poor performance.

And despite not receiving a competitive car this season, the Briton doesn’t feel frustrated, and rather the Englishman has described the worth $367 million McLaren facility as his “second home.” While appearing on Tom Daley’s new podcast, ‘Made With Love’, Norris said,During the winter as little as possible. We go through everything I do simulator, I do preparation for the next weekend, so probably one or two days, at least a week when we’re traveling for the race. So another home for me.”

The Formula 1 driver competes in wheel-to-wheel battles at high speeds, and the 23-year-old revealed on the podcast that he is terrified of operating motor vehicles on the roads. While mentioning the reason behind it, Lando Norris said, “I find it more scary driving on the road than I do in Formula One. More people, they drive the opposite direction, you feel like most people probably shouldn’t have a licence.”

Adding further Briton said he doesn’t feel safe driving on the road because he doesn’t trust individuals around him, he said, “I get scared with that so I’m more scared driving on a road because I don’t trust the people that I’m around. When I’m on a racetrack, I feel much more at home and safe there.”
