This weekend in Imola proved to be very beneficial for Red Bull. They cut out a huge chunk of points from Ferrari’s lead. This has team principal, Christian Horner, delighted as he hopes for more such weekends in the future to close the gap to the title leaders.

Horner feels Leclerc’s mistake gave Red Bull a bonus boost in Imola

This weekend at the Emilia Romagna GP, Ferrari had a weekend to forget. And the ones to benefit were direct rivals, Red Bull. Christian Horner believes it was some stroke of fortune that Charles Leclerc made the mistake to miss out on an assured podium. Horner said, “Mistakes are easily made, but of course, Leclerc was also lucky to finish the race.

However, the team principal went on to add how the mistake was massively beneficial for his team. He said, “It’s a bonus for us. He didn’t finish on the podium and that’s why we were able to take some points from him.”

Horner wants to bridge the gap between the title leaders and them as quickly as possible. Horner said, “It is very important to catch up with a good number of points from Ferrari… We will take this result with us and we want to build on it in Miami.”

However, they will not get to experience weekends like this often where their rivals make such errors.

Horner pleased with the Verstappen and Perez’ outing in Imola

Christian Horner was a happy boss on Sunday as his drivers secured a 1-2 finish at Imola. Verstappen and Perez enjoyed a near-flawless weekend, which left Horner overjoyed. They managed to carve out a huge chunk of points from title leaders Ferrari.
