Tom Cruise’s daredevil moves are something everyone knows. The Top Gun star just carries that personality of a go-getter who can never get enough of that sweet adrenaline rush. From flying jets to piloting an F1 car, he’s done it all. His interaction with the F1 car happened once again as teams prepared themselves for the Miami GP. Thankfully, it was a lot more calm this time around.
Tom’s obsession with F1 cars is not a new thing by any means. His need, the need for speed once landed him in Red Bull‘s actual F1 car. The Mission Impossible star did not hold back on that occasion and went full send mode. What is astonishing is that he came close to the Red Bull David Coulthard’s lap timings.

This time around, it was Mercedes who hosted him, and his role involved getting a hands-on experience of a pit stop. Mind you, these ultra-quick pit stops require quite a lot of practice to master. Maverick (his callsign in the legendary Top Gun franchise) stationed himself on the front-left tire of the car. As the car rolled in and the tire gunner unscrewed it, Cruise flawlessly got the tire out and away for the new tire to come on. Eager to find out if he did well, he looked at the tire gunner and the rest of the crew with excitement. A big smile appeared on his face when they told him that it was great. Later, he posed with the entire crew for a photo as we saw in the video posted by Team Mercedes on Instagram.

Another adrenaline junkie, Lewis Hamilton, is quite a fan of Cruise’s Top Gun franchise. He watched the first movie when he was a kid himself. Young Lewis loved the movie so much that he wanted to become a fighter pilot himself. Clearly, fate had a different kind of pilot in its plans for him.
When the boy from Stevenage learned about the second installment of the movie being in the making, he approached Tom to give him a role in the movie. Hamilton begged and told Tom that he would even be a janitor in the background if that is what it would take him to be in the movie.
