In an unfortunate case of the status quo, motorsport is one of the most inaccessible sports and pastimes in the whole world. This largely comes down to a monetary and fiscal aspect, however, the sport is also hugely inaccessible to people suffering from a disability. This was the supposed norm for a long, long time. Well, or at least until the Hamilton family decided to bust that myth. Lewis Hamilton is the cornerstone of inspiring racing journeys, but his brother, Nicolas is one step ahead of his big brother in this aspect.

Hamilton took to his social media account to share, “Earlier this year Nicolas and I asked my team if we could make this day happen and here we are. Time in the sim is incredibly rare, and not something that is accessible for someone like my brother.”

“It took custom modifications to the seat, steering wheel and pedals to make this possible. He spent the whole day in it, and is the first disabled person to ever do so. He’s always been a fighter and seeing him have this day is an honor. The smile you see here never left his face.”
