The 2022 Formula 3 Asian Championship is all set to commence soon and amidst the growing hype, all eyes have quite interestingly landed on Mumbai Falcons, the Indian racing outfit that most recently housed the current Formula 2 racing driver and Red Bull F1 junior, Jehan Daruvala.

The PREMA driver was part of the Mumbai Falcons over the 2021 season and ultimately clinched P3 in the driver’s standings with 192 points in hand. His fellow Indian teammate, Kush Maini, however, failed to match Daruvala’s level of performance, as he ended up P11, securing 55 points.

And now, with a new campaign ahead, Mumbai Falcons have announced an entirely refreshing driver’s line-up which includes a couple of big names as well.

F1 driver’s brother Arthur Leclerc & others join the team

Mumbai Falcons recently affirmed that Formula One driver, Charles Leclerc’s younger brother, Arthur Leclerc, will be joining the team and will compete in all of the five races. The second driver will be 17-year-old Dino Beganovic, who recently finished P3 in the Italian F4 championship and is also part of the Ferrari driver academy.

Beganovic was also part of the PREMA-led Abu Dhabi Racing Team in the 2021 F3 Asian Championship and finished P7 with a decent 88 points.

And for the third car, two drivers will be sharing the seat with 7-time F1 Grand Prix winner, Juan Pablo Montoya’s son, Sebastian Montoya, being one of them. Considering rookies can only take part in a maximum of three races, Montoya Jr will be competing in the initial three rounds.

For the final couple of rounds, Ferrari junior, Oliver Bearman, will be taking over from Montoya.

The 2021 season of the F3 Regional Asian Championship witnessed the soon-to-be Alfa Romeo F1 driver, Guanyu Zhou, lift the big trophy. The Chinese driver was on a roll from the very first race in Dubai, where he managed to win the initial couple of rounds before retiring from the final round.

Although he failed to score victories over the succeeding three races, almost losing his title fight to Pierre-Louis Chovet, Zhou found his way back over the final round and reclaimed the championship lead from the Frenchman with two race wins and a P2 in Abu Dhabi.
