Understandably, the Monegasque wouldn’t have been happy with his performance (not to mention his strategy). However, his car didn’t make it any easier for him.

After his team informed him of the podium finishers and Vettel’s position, Leclerc said, “I have rarely ever struggled that much. I really struggled a lot. I was really struggling with the car overall.

He was also heard complaining about the seat position of his SF1000. He said, “We’ll talk about the seat too. My back is hurting really badly. Anyway, we’ll speak later.”

Leclerc’s failure to add to his points tally means that he remains with 18 points for the season. All 18 of which came in the season opener in Austria.

He’ll be happy that there isn’t any racing to be done next week, Next week’s break may come as a pleasant change of pace for the 22-year-old as it’ll give him an opportunity to press pause and find his bearings.

As for Ferrari, Vettel’s P6 finish gives them an additional 8 points that help them cut the deficit to McLaren by 13 points. There is still a lot of work to be done by the Maranello-based outfit.

So a week off, before the next race at Silverstone will give the team a chance to regroup and identify their weaknesses and make some changes accordingly.
