Lewis Hamilton once sat on the courtside seats watching LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers battle it out against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors at Game two of the 2017 NBA Finals. Eventually, it was the Warriors who won the game with a score of 132 – 113.
Lewis has been a fan of basketball since childhood. He has talked about his love for the game a number of times, besides being seen courtside whenever his schedule permits indulgence of the kind.

Amongst the many legends of basketball, alongside Lewis at the night, were Neymar Jr. of Paris Saint-Germain.
Hamilton paid a pretty penny for his premium courtside seats at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. A report by ESPN, released after the Finals, found the extortionist prices people were ready to shell out for seats for the game.
While courtside seats at the Oracle Arena have a face value of $3,000, people paid much more too. A pair of resales of the tickets on Ticketmaster fetched the sellers $90,000 and $82,000.
But to everyone’s astonishment, these weren’t the most expensive. A buyer paid up $133,000 for a pair of tickets to the game. An incredible return on investment given that non-season ticket holders can buy tickets for the game for $575-$975.
Although the prices might seem high, they probably didn’t make too much of a dent in Lewis’ $285 million worth pockets.
Lewis Hamilton is good friends with the GOATs of basketball
Hamilton has always made it a point to make it to the big games of the NBA when he can, but he also shares good off-court relationships with some of the most acclaimed NBA stars.
After the Monaco GP this year, Lewis met up with his friend LeBron James. He posted a picture of his meeting on Instagram, calling James “King of kings”.
