The duo not only achieved massive success in their respective field but also gained huge popularity all over the world because of their service. As many already know, Hamilton who’s regarded as of the best drivers on the planet looks up to Jordan as inspiration.

Hamilton has always been vocal about his liking towards the NBA legend. Moreover, the Mercedes star has met Jordan multiple times in his career and made sure he conveys his ‘fanboy-ism’ to him.

In an interview with IWC watches, the seven-time world champion talked about the inspiration that he got from Michael Jordan. He said, “Well, for example, with Michael, who I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, we’ve obviously just seen his documentary and I’m sure that was a reminder of just how great he was but also the single-minded focus that you have to have in order to do what you do, to be great.”

So I think, I look at a lot of athletes out there and there are so many similarities and you know the respect increased,” concluded the Silver Arrows ace.

In the interview with British photographer Misan Harriman, the ‘documentary’ that Hamilton mentioned was Netflix’s The Last Dance, a $20 Million project that ended up inspiring millions of people across the globe.

Lewis Hamilton regards Michael Jordan as a hero

The Silver Arrows driver not only considers the former Chicago Bulls star his inspiration but also regards him as his hero. During the Miami Grand Prix earlier this season, Hamilton stated this in front of the entire world when he put up a photo of  Jordan and his father on Instagram.

On the Instagram story, he wrote, “Two for my hero’s” caption. Michael Jordan paid a visit to the Mercedes paddock when F1 was in the United States for the inaugural Miami race.

Moreover, McLaren driver Daniel Ricciardo also takes inspiration from the big NBA legend. Ricciardo, who’s a fan of the NBA, has taken the ‘live in the moment’ attitude from the 59-year-old American.
