The seven-time world champion wasn’t available to receive his award at the prestigious event. Hence, he took to Twitter to show how grateful he is for receiving such a famed honor.

He said, “Thank you to the ESPYS, and to all the fans for this incredible award. I have currently not had the pleasure of going to one of these amazing awards that the ESPYS do, but I am really so appreciative of all the amazing support that the ESPYS has given me over the years.

“And, I really just want to send lots of love and positivity, and to all the young athletes out there doing incredible things – continue to strive for greatness, continue pushing. Never give up, there really isn’t a thing we can’t do if we put our minds to it. And, also if we come together, so during this time, stay positive and God bless,” Hamilton concluded.
