Overwhelmed by the beauty and his experiences, Hamilton wants to relive the moments even during race weekends. According to reports, Hamilton is getting involved to get the South African Grand Prix back on the calendar. The Mercedes man is trying to use his years of experience and influence to get closer to his roots.

Hamilton has revealed, “I pushed a lot behind the scenes to have a Grand Prix there. I’m glad there are discussions.” Hamilton revealed that F1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali, “has done an incredible job of making this happen.”

Normally, plans for the South African are postponed when the Belgian GP is scheduled for a season. Such might be the case for 2023 as well with Spa-Francorchamps on the calendar next season.

However, staying hopeful, Hamilton said, “I know Spa is confirmed for 2023, but I’m still hoping there will be a race at Kyalami next year. Never say never.”

“I want to keep hoping it will be next year. I know that’s still debating. And when it’s on the calendar, we’ll have to make sure there’s still a Grand Prix there.”

The seven-time world champion still has his fingers crossed despite a potential delay. It seems sooner rather than later, Africa will return to the calendar with new venues and F1’s global factor kicking in.
