Charles Leclerc has once again taken the world of Formula 1 fans by storm. No, not because of his runner-up finish in the drivers’ standings ahead of Sergio Perez, but because of his social media activity. Now fans suggest Pierre Gasly may have something to do with it.

Ferrari took a lot of criticism from fans and pundits alike for their failed strategies throughout the season. However, the masterstroke displayed by them in Abu Dhabi on Sunday caught even Red Bull’s strategists off-guard. They suggested Charles Leclerc to come in for a second time for a tire change to undercut Sergio Perez.

Charles Leclerc was, however, never to come in for a second pit stop and the radio message was bait for the Red Bull strategists. Taking the bait, they called Sergio Perez in for a tire change while Leclerc stayed out and eventually finished ahead of Perez and took the runner-up position in the drivers’ standings.
