Charles Leclerc is now a dad. He took his loving relationship with his girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux to the next step by adopting a furry baby together- Leo. “Welcome home baby Leo 🤍🤍🤍”, the Ferrari driver captioned his Instagram post which had adorable pictures of the newest addition to the family. This situation, however, does raise a question – With Leclerc’s F1 commitments pushing him all over the globe, will Alexandra have to take care of Leo alone?

When Leclerc posted Leo’s picture on Instagram, his fans flooded the comments section. Suddenly, the Ferrari driver was no longer a favorite of his own fans. Leo took the throne with his cuteness. But taking care of a dog, especially a puppy, is no minor task. It takes a ton of effort, food, money, and most importantly, time. Though Leclerc has had dogs in his family, he’s never had one of his own.

At the Thursday press conference ahead of the Chinese GP, a reporter questioned Leclerc, “Who looks after him (Leo) when you’re away?”. “My girlfriend (Alexandra),” he replied with a smile. “But I do take care of him when I’m at home.”

Also, this lovely story brings up a very interesting fact – the last time an F1 racer was questioned about his dog in a pre-race press conference, he won that weekend.

The dog tale of Carlos Sainz’s Singapore GP victory

Charles Leclerc’s future Ferrari teammate, Lewis Hamilton, and his current teammate, Carlos Sainz, are both proud dog fathers. Hamilton has a bulldog and Sainz has a Wirehaired Pointer named Piñón, with whom the Spaniard has posted funny videos as well.

Ahead of the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, Sainz was asked if he ever considered arranging a meet-up of his dog with Hamilton’s dog. “He’s (Sainz’s) a country dog,” the Ferrari driver replied. “They wouldn’t get along.” Funnily enough, it’s as if Sainz knew Hamilton was going to replace him at Ferrari in 2024.

And well, Sainz eventually won the Singapore GP that weekend. Can a similar fate ensue for Leclerc at the Chinese GP this weekend? If you’re a Ferrari fan, hope that this dog blessing works out for him. And might as well share this furry story if you like it.
