Williams F1 launched their stunning new livery for the 2021 season last week. One of the key things to notice was that there was a reduced number of sponsorship stickers on the car, leaving significant empty space on the new design.
Williams F1 CEO, Jost Capito, clarified that this was a deliberate move. The move will allow the team to strengthen their own identity. It will also allow the team to help display their new owners, Dorilton Capital, that took over the ownership earlier last year.
“It is an approach that has the full backing of Dorilton, and takes preference over chasing the last drop of sponsor money. We will partner with brands that share our vision.”

“The new ownership and the strategy we have going forward is already attracting partners, partners that are in contact with us and negotiations going forward. It’s too early to give you something, but there will be some announcements soon,” explained Jost Capito.

Williams F1 has seen a steep decline in their performance over the last few years. The former championship team failed to score even a single point last season. Meanwhile, Dorilton took over the ownership from the Williams family and has heavily backed the team in their path to former glory.
“I can confirm that Dorilton has already invested a lot since they started and since they got the ownership, and they are continuing to do this.”

Williams and their new owners would hate another season without any points. However, with the financial backing from Dorilton and George Russell’s potential, they probably will not meet a similar fate. How do you think Williams will perform this season?
