Lewis Hamilton might have had a bad 2023 within the realms of racing. Despite being the best non-Red Bull driver in terms of points scored, this is his second year in a row where he has gone winless. That being said, he turned out to be the lucky omen for the NFL team that he owns, the Denver Broncos.

Earlier in the day, he had already made headlines for his outfit choice. His blue jacket with orange accents provided a nice bit of throwback to the Broncos fans, who have since started pleading for a revival of the old scheme. However, the joy did not stop there for the Broncos’ fans.

The Broncos managed to defeat the LA Chargers quite comprehensively, with a margin of 24-7.

Since the Mercedes driver bought part-ownership in the NFL team in 2022, the team didn’t have the greatest performances. The last season for the Broncos was a complete bust, scoring only 5 wins against their 12 losses. Naturally, the team pushed for a complete re-haul, forcing coaching changes, and the efforts are finally paying off.

After the victory against the Chargers, the Broncos are going into the 13th game with a record of 6-6 keeping their playoff chances alive.

While there has been a year-long revitalization mission going on within the Denver-based team, fans quickly attributed this victory to Lewis Hamilton’s presence as the lucky omen.

Denver’s very own lucky charm – Sir Lewis Hamilton

Fans immediately took to X to tell Hamilton and the world what his presence meant to them. The fact that Denver has a potential playoff spot is enough for some fans to ask for him to come and spectate every game that they play.

Some fans even felt that the seven-time world champion’s presence was vital if his team had any chance of securing the playoff spot.

Other fans engaged in some friendly banter, especially die-hard fans of Lewis Hamilton, who felt that Hamilton was Denver’s very own lucky charm.

However, not all fans were quick to discard the efforts that the Broncos put in throughout the season. A die-hard Broncos fan felt that the new coaching team is erasing “7 years of bad habits” and thanked Lewis for the investment in the team.

We all know a lot of sportsmen are superstitious. Lewis may not have played a role directly in the recent victory, but if there’s the slightest chance that his presence somehow boosted players’ morale, then fans have every right to wish for more of it.

However, Lewis Hamilton might want to focus his Midas touch effects on the upcoming W-15 as well. While he has mentioned that he’s hopeful after viewing the car in the wind tunnels, the gap to Red Bull is quite significant, and the German team has a lot to catch up on.
