NFL Star J.J. Watt Takes a Dig at Red Bull F1 Boss Christian Horner Amidst His ‘Hate’ for Toto Wolff

F1 has slowly been garnering the attention of heroes from other sports, thanks to the dramatic rivalry between Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen. The latest celebrity to join the fandom is NFL star, J. J. Watt.
The American revealed on Twitter that his interest in the world-famous motorsport has grown rapidly over the past month. And he couldn’t help but take a dig at Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, who has a long history of rivalry with Mercedes’ boss, Toto Wolff.
What’s more, the Arizona Cardinals player is also digging deep into the 2022 regulations and their effects on the car.

Didn’t know a single thing about F1 besides Lewis Hamilton: Watt
The defensive end player tweeted about Horner’s hate for the rival team’s boss, Wolff. Watt reckoned that the Briton hates Wolff as much as he loves Verstappen. “Didn’t know a single thing about F1 Racing besides Lewis Hamilton like a month ago,” he wrote.
“Now I’m just wondering which is greater, Christian Horner’s love for Max Verstappen or his hate for Toto Wolff. I’m also down a deep rabbit hole on the 2022 car and the downforce implications.”

Silverstone witnessed two rivalries potentially reaching its peak. First is the obvious Hamilton-Verstappen rivalry, after the duo came together during the race.

However, what attracted more attention were the reactions from Wolff and Horner. While the latter immediately rang up the race director, Michael Masi, pointing out why Hamilton deserved a penalty, the Mercedes boss decided to push a step forward by visiting the stewards in person.
But Horner rushed to the stewards before Wolff could make the move, and pointed out that no personnel is allowed to visit them during a race. Hence, Wolff was consequently denied permission.
Intense Red Bull – Mercedes rivalry on cards in Hungary?
One can confidently say that the Mercedes-Red Bull friction is certainly not over, and could well resume at Hungaroring. Shots are likely to be fired at each other during the press conference.

The Dutchman, like last weekend at Silverstone, will be the fastest of the two, and Hamilton will need to pull off something miraculous to defend his throne on this high-speed circuit.
