The 2016 championship winner praised his fellow countryman for his exploits in Monaco. Nico said (translated via Google), “I’m very happy for Sebastian, we’ve had to criticize him so much in the last few weeks and years. Now we’ve seen old Sebastian, the phenomenal driver.

“He’ll definitely get him from me ten out of ten. The reason is the two laps he made when Gasly and Hamilton were already in the pits. They were so phenomenal and strong that he overtook both of them. A great weekend for him.”

Vettel himself was ecstatic with the result. His newest chapter in F1 had been a rough ride so far, but with this encouraging result, Sebastian and his fans will hope there is a lot more of the same to come.

Nico Rosberg not the only former F1 driver to praise Sebastian Vettel

Just like Rosberg, Vettel also managed to garner praise from Timo Glock. The four-time world champion impressed the former Toyota driver by his step-by-step approach building towards the race where he achieved maximum performance.

The ex-Ferrari driver would hope that this is not a false dawn. He has had an incredibly tough time in F1 over the last year or so, and for the sake of both Vettel and the sport, it’d be great to see him get back to his best and perhaps even knick a podium finish.

The F1 action will now resume in Baku on June 6, will we see yet another vintage performance from Sebastian? We shall soon find out.
