The Miami GP is in the final stages after a thrilling Saturday session. Charles Leclerc finished pole in the qualifying, while Esteban Ocon crashed into the wall at Turn 14 as Carlos Sainz did on Friday.

On Friday, turn 14 of the Miami International Autodrome had the Ferrari driver Sainz fall victim. The Spaniard had a 47G crash into the wall at Turn 14. In Saturday practice, Frenchman Ocon had a 51g crash at the same part of the track. The collision cost Ocon the qualifying session so that he would start the race from the back of the grid.

Further, not only did the cars suffer damage, but the drivers also sustained injuries. After the crash, Sainz reported, “I mean, I’m sorry to be critical but I told the FIA yesterday my crash in second gear shouldn’t feel that hard, but today my neck was a bit in pain.”

Even Esteban Ocon got his knee bruised, but he would be available for the race. The Alpine driver said, “It hurts, definitely. It was 51G, a hard impact, but I will be fit to race tomorrow, that’s the main thing.”

FIA won’t do anything about the Miami GP Turn 14

The Miami International Autodrome’s Turn 14 will be the most troublesome part for the F1 drivers. This part of the circuit doesn’t look the most threatening, but the looks sure had two drivers fall prey.

The drivers might be having difficulty seeing the apex of the turn 15 until the driver reaches the turn 14. Further, the drivers reported there is an unprotected wall at this part of the circuit which costs more damage to the car.

After the two crashes, the drivers asked FIA to get more safety at that turn. However, FIA refused to lend an ear to the complaints. Further, the McLaren driver Lando Norris supported the two drivers and said, “As drivers, we often know better than the experts where the risks lie. You should listen to us every now and then. We gave our recommendation after Carlos’ accident, and the FIA ​​didn’t react. It’s not OK.”
