How was Nikita Mazepin’s F1 Career?

Mazepin Jr. joined F1 in 2021. American team Haas employed him for the last season along with Mick Schumacher. Nikita’s father, Dmitry Mazepin, is a Russian influential businessman who many believe got him the seat. It is believed that Uralkali’s sponsorship with Haas has fetched him the seat.

Before joining F1, the 23-year-old showcased his talent in FIA European Championship and F2. As Mazepin took the role as an F1 driver, the season wasn’t been great for him. The Russian ended the second with no points in 21 races. In the list of driver’s championships, Nikita finished in 21st place as well.

After being outperformed by Mick Schumacher in most of the races, Nikita continued to race for the American team. Interestingly, Nikita and his spins have become an order of the race days during the season. His spins even earned him the “Maze-Spin” name. Despite such performances, the American team retained the Russian for the 2022 season. He again was supposed to partner with Mick Schumacher.
