Every new Formula1 season comes with its own surprises and this year is no different. Ferrari and its drivers sitting on the top of constructors’ and drivers’ standing. The likes of Haas and Alfa Romeo give competition to the race leaders. And we would’ve never thought Mercedes would be seen battling in the middle field. But a lot of hard work is put into changing people’s perspectives and that’s exactly what Ferrari, Haas, and Alfa Romeo have done.

Ferrari the favorites

Ferrari has outdone themselves with their engine for the 2022 season. And all the promising outings from teams using their engine are proof. The likes of Haas and Alfa Romeo and, of course, Ferrari are performing astonishingly well in the races.

Speaking about the new Haas, Former F1 driver and GP winner, Ralf Schumacher, conveyed, “Their car turned out very well this year. Last year nobody wanted a Ferrari engine and now it’s one of the most powerful engines in the field.”. And one couldn’t agree more.

So far in the season, all Ferrari engines have fared well. Drivers like Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, and Zhou Guanyu have all benefitted with their respective teams. If Mick Schumacher can do the same or not is for us to find out, especially after his crash in the Saudi Arabian GP.

What goes on in the background?

During the 2020 season, teams finishing below 5th had the chance to work on their engines earlier. Making the most of this opportunity, Ferrari introduced an improved engine for 2021, which saw them finish 3rd in the Constructors’ championship. Continuing on this trend, they started working on their 2022 engine in 2021 and the results are certainly evident!

Ferrari paving their way till 2025 before the new engine regulations are introduced and has delivered an excellent engine, which is performing at the highest level so far. The other consumers can’t complain either with Haas and Alfa Romeo performing above expectation so far.

Ferrari might have finally gotten themselves a title challenger car in the form of F1-75. They might finally take the fight to Mercedes and Red Bull after their years of domination. As always, we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
