Leclerc, who was on the verge of Q1 qualification, used the radio to express his annoyance with the team. Though later, as fate took an ironic turn, he ventured forward, only to crash in Q3, raising a red flag. The native of Monaco set out to change a tire amid the unpredictable weather changes, only to encounter an astounding team error. They grasped the wrong set of compounds, shockingly unprepared with the intermediate tires, evoking laughter as if from an evil prank. This error cost the 25-year-old dearly as it took a lifetime to rearrange the tires, which led to an unanticipated pit stop that lasted 5 seconds.

The crew eventually pulled Leclerc off the track while this prolonged agony was still going on, telling him that the front wing damage was getting worse.
