Remembering Ferrari F1 legend Gilles Villeneuve

Although Gilles spent a small six years in the sport and won only six races, his name lives on in F1. The Aviator knew how to put on a show. His exceptional driving style and inspiring zeal shone through on the racetrack.

Niki Lauda had praised the daredevil of F1. “He was the craziest devil I ever came across in F1. The fact that, for all this, he was a sensitive and lovable character rather than an out-and-out hell-raiser made him such a unique human being.”

Villeneuve would often find himself all over the circuit on non-race days; although it looked like a mess from the outside, it was just the driver testing his limits for the race on Sunday. Villeneuve was notorious, but one of the best.
