Max Verstappen lives and breathes racing. When he is not dominating the other 19 drivers on the F1 grid, he is either with his family or playing some sim racing. And even when it comes to sim racing, he is as passionate about it as real racing. Earlier this year, he revealed how he has a ban on any and everyone from entering his room when he’s racing on his computer. But after the recently concluded Belgian GP, he spoke about his close relationship with a special someone, who is not his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, that has led to him overturning the harsh ban.

In January, when speaking to the Washington Post, he said how no one is allowed within 10 meters of his room on race day. But he’s recently said that he can’t help himself when his adorable stepdaughter, Penelope, disturbs him during those days. And we’ve all seen, as fierce as Verstappen is on the racetrack, he is very sweet with Penelope. And he divulged all the details of such interactions in an interview with a curious reporter at Spa.

“This (Penelope) is the only person who can really stop you,” said the reporter. Agreeing with her, Verstappen replied, “Yes she can because sometimes she’s blocking my view, or worst case scenario, she can turn off the computer. Yea, I think she is the only one.” The reporter further asked if “the kisses help?” The Dutchman, with a sweet smile on his face, agreed with this as well. He said, “It’s really cute. It’s really nice.”
