Lewis Hamilton is one of the biggest icons in F1. The Mercedes driver has achieved unbelievable heights and shattered many records in the sport. In his biography, Lewis Hamilton reveals the motivation behind his ruthless winning nature and how he achieved the ultimate dream of winning the World Championships a record 7 times.

Winning even a race in F1 requires determination and perseverance, let alone winning 7 World Titles. Lewis Hamilton‘s mentality and ice-cold persona have helped him become one of the GOATs in F1. However, unlike any other drivers, Lewis’ illustrious career wasn’t fueled by money or fame.
In his biography, the Mercedes driver revealed, “I have a special source of extra motivation.” He explains how the one thing in the world that keeps him motivated after all the rush surrounding an F1 weekend. Lewis adds, “I only have to think of one person to keep me feeling motivated and to put a smile on my face: my brother Nicolas.”
Lewis shares a close bond with his younger brother, Nicholas Hamilton. He shares how he always wanted a younger brother and how grateful he is for having Nicholas in his life.
Hamilton said, “I remember Linda, my step-mum, being pregnant with Nic. I remember him being born and that I would just go and sit next to him and watch him, I had prayed to have a brother and was so happy when he came into the world. It really meant a lot to me, in my childhood, to have a brother. And it still does.”
Nicolas Hamilton, like his brother, is also a racing driver. He competes in the British Touring Car Championship. However, as the younger Hamilton suffers from Cerebral Palsy, he races is a modified car.

Apart from being one of the best racing drivers and a fashion mogul, Lewis Hamilton is also a full-time hero. He is one of the most charitable athletes in the UK. In addition to this, he is also a real-life hero for his brother as he came to his rescue when Nicolas was being bullied.

According to Nicolas Hamilton, Lewis gave him a ‘character-building moment’ when he asked his elder brother for help. Speaking to Sky Sports, Nicolas said, “It was actually my brother that I went to when I first started struggling, I said, ‘Lewis, what do I do? I’ve got these kids now just taking the mick out of me being in a wheelchair’.”
The junior Hamilton thanks Lewis to this date for his advice. He added, “‘if people are laughing at this wheelchair that you’re in, then why don’t we make it cool and do some cool things in it?'”
Nicolas added, “He taught me how to do wheelies and stuff in the wheelchair, and I almost became like a Tony Hawk skateboarder in my wheelchair, I started jumping stairs and trying to be cool. That helped me through it.”
