It has been a while since F1 witnessed a rivalry as intense as the ongoing one between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Ever since the start of this season, both Verstappen and Hamilton have been pushing each other to their absolute limits.
And to further spice up their duel, the duo caused a dramatic crash during the British Grand Prix, and the reactions that followed were unimaginable.
Hence, this led to the fans hailing the rivalry as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Of course, there is no denying that the Hamilton vs Verstappen rivalry has shown resemblances to the ones like Prost vs Senna and Piquet vs Mansell.

However, Verstappen is not ready to acknowledge it. Given a choice between the 3 rivalries, he was asked to choose the best of them. And Verstappen opted to go with Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
“For me, Senna vs. Prost sounds best. But seriously, I don’t think about it too much,” he said.
The car remained the only factor that prevented the duo from racing each other over all these years. However, 2021 is writing an exciting new script, with Red Bull finally handing Verstappen a competitive car who consequently set himself up for the pursuit of his first F1 title.
I don’t see this rivalry with Lewis Hamilton that way: Max Verstappen
Despite affirming the boiling rivalry with Hamilton, the Red Bull driver reckoned that he wouldn’t put his rivalry on the same page as Senna and Prost.
“I don’t really see this rivalry with Lewis Hamilton that way either. I just focus on myself and on the team. That’s when we have the best chance,” he said.

Of course, Verstappen will do everything in his power to beat the two rival team drivers. However, he might push himself to tone down his usual aggression, considering he is coming from a life-threatening crash at Silverstone.
