Ever since the news of devastation started coming in from Turkey and Syria, help poured in from all parts of the world. Going by how the death toll is rising every hour, every effort is important. Formula 1, through Stefano Domenicali, expressed its condolences for the dead, as well. Even drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, are doing their part to make sure necessary supplies reach the victims. Surprisingly, no appeal has come out from the social media handles of Sebastian Vettel, who is otherwise very sensitive toward such issues. As the German driver put out a post on his Instagram, Turkish fans slammed him for turning a blind eye.

At the time of writing this article, reports suggest the death toll in the earthquake-affected areas has crossed 21,000. Taking note of the widespread suffering, Hamilton raised alarm on the devastating situation. Through a series of Instagram stories, he urged people to donate to charities that were working in Turkey and Syria.

Some were a little more polite in the way they asked him to put out posts in their support.

Seb, there was a huge earthquake in Turkey. Please help us”

“Help Turkey, at least share a story please”

“Help Türkiye please. Just sending your best wishes is enough for us.”

However, some of the fans had the German’s back.

“To all the Turkish people in comment section, people can donate without sharing it on insta too. It’s not a necessity to come and declare your charities on social media”
