Do you recall the 2021 changes in regulations? Yes, the one which affected the low-rake cars like Mercedes and Aston Martin a lot. Let’s just say the rules changes were not fair for them because the rest of the car could not be changed that much. Prior to that the Dual Axis Steering system and many more have directly or indirectly affected them. While it looks like the FIA has a thing against Lewis Hamilton and Co., Stefano Domenicali’s comments in favor of Max Verstappen and Co. have left the fans enraged as they spit hard-hitting facts at FIA and Red Bull

Red Bull breaches the cost cap rules in 2022 and was handed over penalties by the F1 and FIA. The team got a 10% reduction from their allotted aerodynamic testing time and a penalty of $7,000,000. Despite that, Red Bull is dominating the field and has scored four 1-2 finishes in the first 5 races. The RB19 is supposedly around 5 tenths faster than the rest of the field in the race trim.

Stefano Domenicali addressed the talks and issues going around Red Bull’s dominance and suggested that it was just Red Bull doing a better job than others at developing a car. However, he implied that the championship is far from over as the penalties and cost cap regulations will play into the hands of other teams as the season progresses. The CEO of F1 suggested that they cannot intervene in the performance of a team and that the financial regulations are there in place to minimize the gap.

According to the Tweet posted by Farinho_10, Stefano Domenicali during an event run by Financial Times said, “This year, we need to say the truth: Red Bull did a better job than the others, it’s a fact. But I would be imprudent to say the championship is finished. We cannot intervene in the performance of the teams. I am sure what we did in terms of financial regulations will help to minimize the gap on the technical side.”
