After winning F3 and F2 in his rookie years, Oscar Piastri has finally made it to F1 and has got a hold on the seat at McLaren. The pressure resting on his shoulders is tremendous, as the focus has shifted to quite some extent from his teammate Lando Norris to him. Having gone head-to-head against Alpine to claim the Aussie’s services, McLaren and fans surely hope their new favorite driver from Australia turns things around massively.

And as we are slowly progressing toward the season’s start, with Bahrain pre-season testing only a couple of days away, pressure is undoubtedly mounting on Oscar Piastri, which he himself has tried to shrug off. He tried to lowball the expectations and set low targets for himself, which didn’t gel with the fans. But realizing that it’ll only be the rookie season for Oscar, the papaya army has also hopped in to keep the Aussie calm and cheer him up.

The drivers only have a couple of days to work with until hitting the tracks in the cars that will be closest to the ones they’ll be competing in a couple of weeks later. Seeing all this, Piastri has expressed his eagerness to get in the car after a rather simple unveiling by the team earlier this month.

McLaren worked extremely hard to take advantage of Piastri’s talent and skill. They also had to let go of their beloved Daniel Ricciardo, who, in 2021, got the team its first win since 2012. But the fans are making sure that Piastri feels as welcome as anyone else, lending him their massive support.

The other fans expressed their faith in the driver, with just tiny bit of added pressure, saying, “We’re excited to follow your progress! 🧡”, “can’t wait to see you on track!!! good luck i know you will be doing good !!!!” and “hope to watch you fight for podiums this year 🧡”

Oscar Piastri has also been lent a hand of support by Daniel Ricciardo, who has suggested that his fellow Aussie learn from his mistakes and experiences during the two years at McLaren. Andrea Stella believes that the team and Oscar Piastri will benefit from Ricciardo’s time.
