Red Bull recently launched their 2022 RB18 livery in Milton Keynes headquarters. The grand event on the 9th of February brought in a wave of excitement among their fans. The driver duo of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were present during the car launch and laid out their thoughts on the 2022 season.
Red Bull re-ignited their dominance in 2021 after a gap of 7 seasons since their last title. Max Verstappen led the pack and Perez followed closely. His defense against Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi contributed immensely to Verstappen’s title. Now, the duo has the task of defending the drivers’ title in a totally unpredictable season.
F1 has seen the biggest overhaul in 3 decades sweeping over this season. As per Horner, every component of their 2022 car differs from the title-winning RB16B chassis. Many F1 insiders have predicted a shift in the power dynamics on the grid this season. With these concerns in mind, Sergio Perez believes they will need to adapt through the season.

Drivers will have to learn a lot of things: Sergio Perez
As we are nearing the pre-season testing later this month, speculations are making rounds in the F1 community. Though Red Bull and Mercedes are obvious choices at the front, many expect teams like Ferrari and Mclaren to join them in the title fight. In an interview during the launch event of the Red Bull livery, Perez discussed various aspects of the new car and what should be the approach. He believes the new car is like a blank slate and they will have to adapt and learn as the season progresses.

“I’m very excited to start the new season, and I can’t wait to be on track with the RB18. Everyone on the grid is starting from scratch this year, so it’s going to be a very interesting campaign,” said the Mexican star.
He believes everyone will have to adapt and learn as the season progresses. “The new rules are made to improve the competition on the track, so I hope that the drivers can fight more, run better and follow the cars closely. There will be a lot of things that we need to learn and adapt to, but with this new regulation it will be very exciting,” he added.
