Pierre spoke about how his dad was his manager and mechanic when it came to getting him into professional racing. He shed more light on the situation when he said” You know, I’m the last one of a big family. I have four brothers, and everybody had to make sacrifices to allow me to pursue my dream.” The remarkable work that the entire family has put into Pierre’s career is commendable and when he brought home the first-place trophy for the Italian GP, he knew that he was starting to fulfill his duty of achieving his dreams.

While sharing about the struggles that his family endured to make his dream come true, he said “It’s a lot of sacrifices from everyone. I’ve seen my parents going through extremely difficult times because they gave everything they had for me to race, only in karting. When I think about it, it’s completely insane. They’ve taken financial risks for the entire family just to allow me to follow my dream.” However, this only shows the potential that Pierre showed during his early stages and how it convinced his family that all the struggles were worth it.

Although Pierre proved himself at the Italian GP, he has found it difficult to regain first ever since. With this change in trajectory, Pierre has changed his team since and has moved into Alpine and Eddie Jordan had a few things to say about the driver.

Eddie Jordan’s say on Pierre’s current position in the sport

With Pierre in Alpine alongside Esteban Ocon finishing 6th in the constructors’ championship, Eddie Jordan feels sorry for the two drivers who are stuck behind the wheels of cars that will never let them unlock their potential. During the recent Formula For Success podcast, Jordan said “Alpine, two good drivers. I have a sweet spot for Gasly. I think he tries really hard and sometimes he’s a little bit unlucky.”

While Jordan hopes Pierre does better, he said “Nevertheless, do I see them making much improvement next year? Really, truthfully, no. I think the engine is not good enough. And two great drivers, but you know, they’re stuck in there and they just make the best of it.”

Jordan expressed that Gasly achieved a surprise victory with AlphaTauri. However, despite his efforts and talent, he faced difficulties, and the lack of competitive machinery has impacted his overall performance. He expresses doubts about Alpine’s potential for improvement in the upcoming season. He points to the engine’s performance as a limiting factor and acknowledges the drivers’ skills but suggests that they are “stuck” due to the team’s current situation.
