Alpine announced Pierre Gasly as Fernando Alonso’s replacement for the 2023 season. The Spaniard, earlier this year, had decided to join Aston Martin on a multi-year contract. Alpine’s reserve driver, Oscar Piastri, was snatched by McLaren as their driver for next season, leaving the Enstone-based outfit with limited options.

Ex-Renault driver, Daniel Ricciardo, was on the list to partner with Esteban Ocon. But, Alpine’s Team Principal Otmar Szaufnauer decided to go with AlphaTauri ace Pierre Gasly.

Pierre Gasly’s Salary compared to Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and others

Alpine has signed a multi-million dollar deal with the Frenchman. Pierre Gasly is expected to earn over $14.5 million for the 2023 season, and a variable for the 2024 season. This will depend on the number of races conducted next year. It’s a staggering 8- figure amount which puts him in the same bracket as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are the highest earners. Both are reported to earn a whopping $44 million in 2023. The two heavyweights have been in a league of their own in the last few years. Therefore, any amount to retain them is justified.
