Carlos Sainz with a disastrous qualifying result

Carlos, hit by a string of bad luck throughout the qualifying, wasn’t helpful either. On one of his flying laps, according to which Sainz would’ve finished P3 provisionally, his time was disregarded because of a red flag. After the qualifying resumption with just seven minutes to go and all cars in the pit. Carlos performed a few warm-up laps before making an attempt, but was below par on both the flying laps. The hurried attempts did him no good. Because of this, he has to settle for P9 for tomorrow’s race. Right ahead of Fernando Alonso. Just something to note.
