Sebastian Vettel has suffered a dismal 2020 F1 season. The Ferrari driver has barely picked up 17 points and is 13th in the Drivers’ Championship standings. His teammate Charles Leclerc has clearly enjoyed a better outing this time around.

The German finished 11th at last week’s Eifel Grand Prix, outside the points’ tally yet again. In fact, he has only picked up a solitary point since the Spanish Grand Prix and is struggling to handle the Ferrari SF1000.

Ferrari, on the other hand, is placed sixth in the constructors’ standings, 34 points adrift of the fifth-placed Renault. However, it is AlphaTauri who are giving Ferrari a run for their money, sitting just 13 points behind the Italian giants.

Speaking about the upcoming races, Vettel said, “We still have some races left and the points are important for us, I think that’s the main target.”

The 33-year-old was also looking forward to racing at some of the new tracks in Portugal, Italy, and Turkey. “I’m looking forward to the next three. Portimao is a novelty for me, as is Imola. Turkey I’ve been to on the other hand, so it should be exciting.”

Vettel did have a memorable Turkish Grand Prix outing almost a decade ago, in 2011.

The German secured pole position, before going on to win the race ahead of Red Bull teammate Mark Webber and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso.

It remains to be seen if Sebastian Vettel can finish the season strongly as he prepares to leave his troubling days at the Maranello-based outfit behind in search of asylum at Racing Point/Aston Martin.
