Earlier, Nico Rosberg had surmised that Max Verstappen was making far too many mistakes. This would be detrimental for the Dutch driver in his quest to catch and defeat Lewis Hamilton. The German former F1 driver was referring to the fact that Verstappen had a few lap times deleted for silly mistakes.

However, Verstappen did not take too kindly to Rosberg’s ‘friendly advice’. He simply said, “Yeah, I don’t need Nico to make me realise how good Lewis is. I know he’s very good, otherwise you don’t win so many championships.”

Verstappen may have known that the 2016 world champion had his heart in the right place. However, he may have lashed out as the question came just minutes after he realized that he had lost the bonus point for the fastest lap of the race.

Max Verstappen will be keen to redeem himself in the coming race

In the coming race weekend, the paddock heads to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix. With this, the F1 season will really kick-off, and Verstappen will have a point to prove. However, despite Verstappen’s ire, it is possible that Nico Rosberg has a point. In Bahrain, a silly error meant that he had to surrender the lead back to Hamilton for going out of bounds.
