We have all heard the phrase, happy wife, happy life! Well, Red Bull boss Christian Horner lives that life. The Brit made an entire nation jealous by marrying Geri Halliwell, the Ginger Spice of the Spice Girls. However, it all could’ve turned out differently according to the memoir of Prince Harry.

The Price met Geri Halliwell back during their concert in Africa for Nelson Mandela back in 1997. Prince Harry was about 13 was old then and Halliwell was about 25. However, despite the massive age difference, the young prince felt a “real connection” to the ginger spice. This is what the member of the royal British family revealed in his tell-all memoir, “Spare”.

In his memoir, Prince Harry details a trip he took with his father, Prince Charles III, to Johannesburg. The Spice Girls 1997 Johannesburg concert marked Prince Harry’s first public appearance since Princess Diana’s death.

It was during this trip Prince Harry met Geri Halliwell and made a connection. In his memoir, as reported by Rolling Stone, he wrote, “Ginger Spice [was] the only Spice with whom I felt a real connection.” He writes: “A fellow ginger.”

Apart from the connection, Prince Harry was more surprised about his father enjoying the concert. He added, “Concert? Pa? Impossible to believe. But I saw it with my own eyes. — Pa gamely nodding to the beat and tapping his foot.”

Such was the all-encompassing reach of the Spice Girls back in the day. This is exactly why Geri Halliwell was awarded an honorary doctorate. However, she can’t do it all alone.

Sony’s Gran Turismo movie cast Geri Halliwell for their upcoming movie in a star cast. Excited about the project, the former Spice Girl member shared the trailer of the movie. However, the fans did not share her excitement.

Excited Halliwell, shared the trailer on her Instagram with the caption, “Excited to share a sneak peek of #GranTurismoMovie – based on the inspiring true story of an impossible dream. In movie theaters this summer!”

However, to summarize the fans’ reaction to the movie, one wrote, “Got FLOP written all over it. No one ever asked for a gran turismo movie.”
