Aston Martin had an eventful 2022 season. The year saw the four-time champion missing the first two races, and the team is lagging behind the rivals in terms of pace. Earlier this year, a former team principal pointed out the team’s owner, Lawrence Stroll, for Aston Martin’s poor performance. Former F1 team principal Colin Kolles believes that the Canadian billionaire is responsible for the team’s downfall.

He says that Stroll is treating Aston Martin as his vanity project to make his son a permanent member of Formula 1. “He knows everything best and puts his son at the center with all his power. To me, that is the totally wrong approach,” Kolles told Sport1.de.
Adding further the Romanian said, “They have a team owner who thinks he is the team owner, If you throw a million on the fire, the money will burn up just as fast as in Formula 1 if you don’t know what you’re doing.”
Colin Kolles had not only blamed the poor performance of Aston Martin on the billionaire but has also reckoned that the team’s star driver didn’t want to drive for the team.
