Max Verstappen, unstoppable the entire weekend, won every race format during the Brazilian GP. Not only that, the world champion secured his 17th win of the season, pushing the numbers on the unbreakable record a little further. The Dutchman was on top of the podium once again and looking from the bottom was his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet. However, she wouldn’t have been if she would’ve remembered the last time she got too close to the podium celebration and Fernando Alonso was on top.

We saw Piquet look up to her man with glitter in her eyes as he secured the Brazilian GP win. She even posted a story of the calm followed by the chaos of the podium celebration. However, she came dangerously close to suffering the same fate she did 10 weeks ago at the Dutch GP when Alonso was on the podium last.

10 weeks ago, Kelly Piquet rooted for her man and saw him fight his way to the top step of the podium. Verstappen was followed by Alonso, who was excited to get on the podium for the first time since Canada. Perhaps a little too excited, Alonso’s champagne shower caught the ones standing close and witnessing the podium celebrations. Piquet was among those many who got drenched in Alonso’s excitement, which the Brazilian model made sure the world knew through her Instagram story.

Not learning from her mistakes or being overwhelmed with love, Piquet stood in the firing range again but luckily escaped any champagne showers this time.

However, the Brazilian model couldn’t help but risk repeating the fate of the Dutch GP, especially after the incredible record Verstappen broke with his Brazilian GP win.

Max Verstappen breaks yet another record with his Brazilian GP win

We can’t put into words what Max Verstappen is achieving in the current season. However, it can be summarized in words. The Dutchman has won 17 out of the 20 races so far in the 22-race season. He has already extended his previous season’s 15-race wins a season record. However, with the Brazilian GP win, he has made it in the history books once again by shattering a long-standing F1 record.

After smashing the race wins in a season record, the Red Bull man has smashed the record in terms of win percentage as well. With his latest win, Verstappen brought his win percentage in the season to 85%.

Verstappen broke a 71-year-old record set by Italian driver Alberto Ascari in the 1952 season where he won 75% of the races. What’s more incredible is even if Verstappen loses the next two remaining races, he will still end the season with a 77.2%.
